Universal Audio Volt 2 Max is an expandable 10-in / 4-out USB-C audio interface combining professional 32-bit / 192 kHz conversion with two Tone Shaping preamps and onboard Max dynamics processing. Its three preamp character modes and six real-time compressor presets provide more than 18 tonal combinations for recording vocals, guitars, basses and other instruments. A full-colour Smart Display, Auto-Gain, Clip Protection, optical expansion, MIDI, dual headphone outputs and a built-in talkback microphone make it a versatile desktop and mobile recording system.

Creative Tools
- Record two microphones, instruments or performers simultaneously through independent preamps with up to 60 dB of digitally controlled gain.
- Combine Warmth, Focus or Shine preamp character with one of six Max compressor presets to create more than 18 recording tones directly at the input.
- Use Warmth for tube-inspired body, Focus for controlled solid-state punch or Shine for an open British Class-A-inspired top end.
- Apply Max Processing while recording to control dynamics and add the character of classic FET, optical and VCA compressors without opening a software plug-in.
- Select source-specific compression settings for vocals, acoustic instruments, electric guitar and bass using simple hardware controls.
- Use Auto-Gain to establish suitable recording levels, then enable Clip Protection to guard against unexpected peaks.
- Monitor input levels, settings and compressor gain reduction through the full-colour Smart Display.
- Expand the interface with an ADAT-equipped preamp or converter to record up to ten microphone or line sources at standard sample rates.
- Switch the optical input to SPDIF mode for compatible digital instruments, preamps, media players and converters.
