Creative Tools
- Connect 16 analogue sources and destinations through the primary DB25 input and output banks, providing extensive connectivity for external microphone preamps, consoles, patchbays and outboard racks.
- Integrate hardware compressors, equalisers and effects into DAW sessions using the line-level connections and Horizon Control routing matrix.
- Send individual tracks or stems to an analogue console or summing mixer, then record the finished stereo mix through the dedicated mix-bus inputs without occupying the 16 primary input channels.
- Monitor through the dedicated stereo output path with 133 dB A-weighted dynamic range, supporting detailed assessment of balance, stereo imaging, transients and low-level information.
- Record and process audio at sample rates up to 192 kHz using high-performance 32-bit AD/DA conversion for transparent transfer between analogue equipment and a digital workstation.
- Track through compatible native DAW plug-ins with round-trip latency as low as 0.99 ms at 192 kHz and a 64-sample buffer, depending on the computer, software and session workload.
- Expand the system with digital preamps and converters through dual ADAT input and output banks, supporting 16 additional channels at 48 kHz, eight at 96 kHz or four at 192 kHz.
- Connect compatible optical S/PDIF equipment by changing the digital-port format in Horizon Control.
- Match converter headroom to connected analogue equipment using selectable +18 dBu and +24 dBu reference levels for each channel bank.
- Combine analogue inputs, digital sources and computer playback in Horizon Control to create independent monitoring balances while keeping recording levels separate from listening levels.
- Configure monitor profiles and custom speaker layouts, then use mono, polarity, dim and reference-level functions for critical mix evaluation.
- Check signal levels and system status through the Motion UI hardware display, with detailed channel metering and configuration available in Horizon Control.
- Daisy-chain up to four Horizon interfaces through Thunderbolt for larger studio systems, using separate BNC Word Clock connections to synchronise the units.
- Install the interface in a compact 1U rack space, with fanless cooling providing silent operation in recording and control rooms.
