Universal Audio Volt 4 Max is an expandable 12-in / 6-out USB-C audio interface and studio-monitoring controller designed for musicians, producers, electronic performers, podcasters and project studios. It combines 32-bit / 192 kHz conversion with two Tone Shaping preamps, six Max compressor presets, four analogue inputs, ADAT or SPDIF expansion and four balanced outputs. Main/Alt speaker switching, dual headphone connections, built-in talkback, Auto-Gain, Clip Protection and a full-colour Smart Display provide an integrated recording and control-room workflow.

Creative Tools
- Record two microphones together with two additional line-level sources, allowing vocals, instruments, synthesizers and drum machines to be captured simultaneously.
- Combine Warmth, Focus or Shine preamp character with one of six Max compressor presets to create more than 18 recording tones directly at the input.
- Use Max Processing to control dynamics and add FET, optical or VCA-inspired compression while recording vocals, acoustic instruments, guitars and basses.
- Use Auto-Gain to establish recording levels automatically, then enable Clip Protection to guard against unexpected signal peaks.
- View input levels, operating settings and compressor gain reduction through the full-colour Smart Display.
- Expand the interface through ADAT to add up to eight digital input channels for recording drums, ensembles and small bands.
