Elektron Outbox 8 is a versatile 8-channel audio and CV breakout box designed to expand the physical connectivity of Elektron instruments, USB class-compliant music hardware, computers and mobile devices. Its eight independently configurable, impedance-balanced and DC-coupled outputs can carry mono or stereo audio, control voltage, or any supported combination of both. Outbox 8 enables individual tracks and submixes to be routed to external mixers, effects and recording systems, converts USB MIDI into CV for modular equipment, and operates as an 8-output USB audio interface for computers, tablets and smartphones.

Creative Tools
- Route individual tracks from a compatible Elektron instrument to separate mixer or audio-interface channels, providing independent level, EQ, dynamics and effects processing for each part.
- Create dedicated output groups for drums, bass, melodic instruments, effects and other elements by assigning multiple tracks to the same physical output or stereo pair.
- Build external effects loops by routing selected tracks through individual outputs to pedals, processors or modular effects before returning them through the audio inputs of a compatible instrument or mixer.
- Use up to eight mono outputs for detailed multichannel routing, or combine adjacent outputs into as many as four impedance-balanced stereo pairs.
- Send audio from a DAW to analogue mixers, effects processors, samplers and multichannel sound systems by using Outbox 8 as a class-compliant 8-output USB audio interface.
- Expand compatible USB class-compliant grooveboxes, synthesizers and drum machines by operating Outbox 8 as a USB host, subject to the connected device’s audio and MIDI implementation.
- Convert MIDI information from a computer, sequencer, controller or compatible instrument into CV signals for controlling modular and semi-modular synthesizers.
- Control oscillator pitch using either V/Oct or Hz/V standards, allowing integration with a broad range of modular, vintage and modern CV-controlled instruments.
- Generate gate, trigger and clock signals for starting envelopes, triggering percussion modules and synchronising modular systems with MIDI or DAW-based equipment.
- Send continuously variable ±5 V control signals to compatible modulation destinations using the linear CV value mode.
- Combine audio and CV across the eight DC-coupled outputs to create a hybrid setup that routes sound to external processing while simultaneously controlling modular equipment.
- Configure routing directly from supported Elektron instruments, or use the browser-based editor when working with other compatible hardware, computers or mobile devices.
- Integrate the compact, USB-powered unit into studio and live-performance systems without requiring a conventional desktop audio interface or large breakout system.
